Stop Bleeding Gums for Good

Bleeding gums is one of the most commonly reported dental conditions for Hampton Dental Associates’ patients. If you’ve noticed that your gums bleed during normal activities such as chewing, brushing or flossing it is important to have the problem diagnosed and treated as soon as possible. Untreated gum damage can lead to advanced gum disease and other dental conditions – all of which can be avoided with early detection and treatment.

Most instances of bleeding gums can be attributed simply to poor gum health.  Are you brushing twice a day at home and flossing each day?  How about using a dental mouth rinse?  Each of these practices can dramatically improve your chances of eliminating gum bleeding.

It is important to take good at-home care of your teeth through brushing and flossing – otherwise bleeding gums and become susceptible to bacteria growth and gum damage.  Bacteria growth can affect the health of your teeth as well as lead to other illnesses such as sore throats, sinus and ear infections.

The earliest stage of gum disease is known as gingivitis. If left untreated it can become worse, but with proper dental hygiene can be completely reversed.

If you’re concerned about the health of your gums and are in need of a dental consultation, please do not hesitate to contact Hampton Dental Associates. Dr. Rick Winter and his professional staff can professionally clean your teeth, evaluate your gums for disease and recommend an appropriate treatment plan for reversing its course.
