The advantages that one gets from having a straight smile are nothing to shake a stick at. Most people we meet express one of two things: either appreciation for the straight teeth they have or a desire to get straighter teeth. We can understand why! Everything from confidence to the average dental cleaning is better when teeth align as they should. Crookedness invites plaque and tartar buildup, which invites cavities and inflammation. Misalignment can cause jaw pain or even TMJ disorder, and then there’s the issue of simply feeling good about the appearance of your smile. When there is an opportunity to correct these concerns, it should be taken, right?
Straightening misalignment is beneficial for many reasons. Still, the downside of wearing braces keeps many people from obtaining the benefits that are available to them. We love helping patients discover that they are excellent candidates for Invisalign because providing this treatment enables us to help them achieve their desired outcome in the easiest possible way.
Simple Steps to a Straight Smile
The first step to getting a smile you want to show off is to schedule your Invisalign consultation in our Milwaukee office. A brief discussion of your goals and observation of your teeth is all that is needed to tell if you the Invisalign system would work for you. Over the past several years, Invisalign has been refined to address a wider variety of problems. This means that more patients can get straighter teeth without braces.
If you are a good candidate for Invisalign, we begin collecting data that will serve as a guide to the fabrication of your aligners. X-rays and other images are sent to the lab where aligners are made. There, they are transformed from images into a multi-dimensional animation that shows every phase of movement from beginning to end. It is from this animation that each set of aligners is made. If this initial process sounds sophisticated, that’s because it is. From there, though, everything is simplified.
Invisalign treatment is easy because all you have to do is:
- Wear your aligners as directed.
- Brush and floss your teeth morning and night.
- Rinse or brush after meals, too.
- See us every six weeks or so for progress checks.
