Immediate Load Implants

Tooth Replacement Procedure Choices

Branemark System – The Gold Standard

Implant Dentistry, as a procedure (or constellation of procedures) has been employed since about 1965.

The founder or original developer of the procedure and a variety of the components used in dental implants, Dr. P-I Branemark, developed what is considered to be the “Gold Standard” of modern implant dentistry.

Our doctors use this Gold Standard in their treatment of patients needing implant services for replacement of single teeth, multiple teeth, anchoring crown and bridge systems or for stabilizing dentures.

Our implant patients are thereby assured of receiving the best that implant dentistry technologies can provide… with the assurance that their dentistry outcomes will endure for years to come.

Milwaukee Dental Implants in 1 Day

One of the more recent, cutting edge technologies that is rapidly gaining popularity and is now available to many of our patients is the Immediate Load or Immediate Placement dental implant.

This unique procedure enables patients to be fitted for a variety of fixed restorations on the same day (or within 2-3 days for some cases) the implant device is installed. There is no typical 3-6 month waiting period for the implant site to heal or stabilize via osseointegration (titanium implant post fuses with bone material).

Depending on patient need, cosmetic and functional concerns of treatment, Dr. Winter employs this popular treatment that enables patients to avoid being toothless after single or multiple extractions. Immediate implants are also used in certain treatments that may involve fixed bridges or denture solutions.

Dr. Winter has also used a combination of immediate load implant devices in conjunction with traditional implants. The one day implant devices allow the patient to be fitted with a denture, while the traditional implants are healing.

Typically, Dr. Winter will recommend standard implants for certain types of complex dental reconstruction and provide the convenience of immediate load devices that eliminate the problem of being near toothless or having several missing teeth.

Temporaries are crafted to provide ongoing dental function and a suitable cosmetic result as the more permanent implants undergo osseointegration.

Traditional Milwaukee Implant Dentistry

Dr. Winter provides the more traditional implant procedures for those patients who are not candidates for Immediate Load implants. Mini implants, another recent innovation in tooth replacement dentistry are also available for some patients.

Overall, dental implants represent the procedure of choice for many of our patients.. enabling them to enjoy the natural feeling, dental (muscular) function and aesthetic appearance that is unattainable with any other dental procedure.

A complex case that involved bone grafting, traditional orthodontics and premium porcelain products that created, literally, a smile that the patient thought was not possible due to missing teeth.
